Bank of Brodhead offers Stafford subsidized and unsubsidized loans for students and PLUS loans for parents. U.S. Dept. of Education pays the interest on a Stafford subsidized loan while the student is in school full-time. Unsubsidized loan interest is the responsibility of the student while in school. If they are unable to pay, the interest is considered “capitalized”, or added to the original principal borrowed. Stafford loan repayments begin six months after the student ceases to be full-time.
Fill this number in on your Master Promissory Note (from Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation) to use Bank of Brodhead as your student loan lender. There is no need for you to select a lender from the list provided by your school.
For more details on student loans, call or stop in and see Mike Olson, our Student Loan Officer.

Your first stop in the financial aid process is filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) {www.fafsa.ed.gov} online. This web site does an excellent job of detailing the process, calculating eligibility, and answering your financial aid questions.
Bank of Brodhead makes loans without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, marital status or age (provided the applicant meets all credit approval).
